The Decision Toolkit just dropped. Here's what's in it and why it exists.
Hey —
This is the second issue of this newsletter. The first one introduced you to the whole "Duct Tape or Whatever Makes It Move" idea — the thing where I build the rough version that actually works instead of the polished version that doesn't ship.
This week, I tested that idea against the worst possible operating conditions.
My Significant Other came home from the hospital last week — RSV plus COPD, intense recovery, he's not driving, he needs help with basic things. I fell ill while he was in the hospital. Ear pressure, exhaustion, fog. The kind of sick where you measure productivity in "did I make a sandwich today?"
In the middle of all that, I built and launched a product.
It's called The Decision Toolkit. It's $37. It's live now: https://stan.store/jabbs28_936/p/the-startsmart-decision-toolkit
Here's what's in it and why.
Two AI prompts. That's the whole thing.
Not a course. Not a "system." Not a 47-module curriculum I'd need to record while sick. Two prompts you paste into Claude or ChatGPT.
Prompt 1 — The Content Viability Check. You paste your business idea — the course you're thinking about, the product you want to launch, the offer you've been workshopping for a month. The prompt tells you if it's actually worth building before you waste three weeks of evenings on it. Not in a discouraging way. In a "here's what's missing, here's what's strong, here's what to test first" way.
Prompt 2 — The Program Evaluator. This one is the one I needed personally. You paste any sales page — coaching program, course, mastermind, $2,000 mentorship, whatever. The prompt reads it and tells you what it actually costs (including the upsells they don't mention up front), what's real versus vague, and gives you a verdict. Buy. Skip. Buy with conditions.
I built this because I almost bought a $2,000 program last month that turned out to require another $1,500 in "required tools" once you were inside. The kind of thing where you find out after you've committed.
If you're an adult who doesn't have time to waste on shiny-object programs or three-week ideas that were never going to land — this is the toolkit.
Why $37 and not $97 or $297
Because the prompts work. You don't need a six-week container to learn how to paste text into Claude. You need the prompts and ten minutes.
The funnel-bro crowd is selling you the same value for $297 with a 47-page workbook attached. I'm not interested in that game.
$37. One time. Yours forever. If it doesn't save you from one bad decision, email me and I'll refund you. That's the whole deal.
What's coming next
Now that this is live, I'm building toward the next product (probably the DM Triage System — two PJ members named DMs as their bottleneck on different days, which is enough validation for me to take it seriously). I'm also putting together a free guide called "The Honest Truth About AI" — the cultural fears, the environmental concerns, the economic disruption, and how we actually navigate this without losing our minds.
If you bought the Decision Toolkit already — thank you. You're the reason I got this out the door instead of letting it sit in a draft folder for three more weeks while I "polished" it.
If you haven't bought it — no pressure. This newsletter isn't a sales funnel disguised as content. I'll keep writing whether you buy or not.
But if you've been about to drop money on something that smells funnel-bro-shaped, run it through Prompt 2 first. That alone might be worth $37.

P.S. The "duct tape" metaphor is doing work this week. The product is duct tape. It's not pretty. It works. It shipped. That's the only version that ever helps anyone.
